Samsung Galaxy Player - The iTouch Rival Announced!

The Samsung Galaxy name has recently become the highlight for people all over the world.  The Samsung Galaxy S smartphone boomed in popularity which led to the creation of the Samsung Galaxy Tab.  It seems this prosperity is leading to another product release, the Samsung Galaxy Player.  Dubbed the Samsung Galaxy Player YP-GB1, it will look very similar to the Samsung Galaxy S smartphone, just without the phone capabilities and the Super AMOLED screen.

The Samsung Galaxy Player YP-GB1 is going after the market of people who are looking for touchscreen MP3 players, most notably iPods.  Set to be officially shown at CES, the Samsung Galaxy Player will definitely be a strong competitor in the market.  Samsung already is considered a leader for manufacturing televisions, computers, smartphones, and tablets, while being weak in the portable MP3 player department.

The Yepp brand of Samsung MP3 players hasn't taken off as much, instead being beaten by the Apple iPod and a competing Korean company, iRiver.  One can only expect that the Samsung Galaxy Player will push Samsung ahead in another new market.
