Amazon Tablet in October?

It looks like Amazon has decided to enter into the Android powered tablet market, creating new competitor for Samsung, as well as Apple, HTC, Motorola and LG.  Though nothing solid has been released yet, rumor is that it will be roughly 9 inches, feature the latest version of Android, powered by a quad core processor and may have a front facing camera.  Whether it will be WiFi only or will have a carrier attached is also a mystery, as well as the price.

With the release of so many Android powered tablets,

one has to wonder how Amazon will differentiate itself.  The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, the HTC Flyer, Motorola Xoom and many other tablets already have a hard time truly distinguishing themselves.  One also has to wonder if Apple will start levying lawsuits against Amazon to try to delay or stop the release.  They've already tried with the 'AppStore' name, they may try again with the same hurdles they're trying to launch against Samsung devices, like throwing ITC Complaints.

The Samsung Galaxy series may have to revamp in some way or expand, Windows Phone 7 is one way, but in other ways as well to avoid becoming another device in a long line of similar devices.
